Encouragement from James 1:4

Scripture Passage: James 1:4

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:4 NIV

I love to wear my grandmother’s butterfly pin because it reminds me to persevere.

Hi, I’m Laura Lacey Johnson.

When a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, new muscles grow, a specialized tongue appears, and wings emerge.

But a butterfly won’t develop properly if the cocoon opens prematurely.

That’s a good reminder.

Often, I look for the nearest exit when troubles come.

But that’s not always best.

Consider James 1:4 NIV: “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Lately, God has shown me that while things may feel dark, the light of the world lives inside me – and all Christ-followers.

Let’s persevere and ask God to transform us, making us stronger, wiser, and brighter for His Kingdom.
