Scripture Passage: Matthew 7:24-27
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.” Matthew 7:24 NLT
Recently, a storm in our area scattered debris far and wide, and I thought about the parable in Matthew 7 when Jesus talked about two houses: one built on rock and another built on sand.
When a storm came, the wind and waves battered both. Afterward, only the house built on the rock remained.
Jesus wanted us to know that when we put His teachings into practice, we build a strong foundation.
But that doesn’t mean we won’t feel the effects of life’s storms.
When troubles come, we may feel like a house with busted windows and missing shingles.
But our lives don’t have to collapse completely.
What are you doing to strengthen your spiritual foundation? The answer may determine how well you weather the next storm.
